Strengthening the Homefront by Adopting an IT Business Model

10:30am - 11:30am Tuesday, March 10
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W304E

Description

As our organization matures, and moves from being focused on IT assets and IT processes to becoming a provider of optimized services, the definition of an IT service evolves and changes to show that shift in perspective. With that in mind, Solution Delivery Division is moving towards running IT like a business. The Division is getting away from the concept of having vendor and/or contractors and viewing the relationship with industry as a partnership. What does that mean? In this session, we intend to demonstrate the steps Solution Delivery is taking to evolve to becoming more innovative, entrepreneurial, bold, and risk tolerant. In order to do this, SDD will have to adopt a mindset that will drive continuous rationalization, optimization, cost reduction and modernization. The end state of this evolution hopes to see the Division become "the Prime" for all software solution needs not just for DHA or MHS, but for federal entities.
