Stanford Children's Outside Image Management Journey

12:30pm - 1:30pm Friday, March 9
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Murano 3304

Description

Stanford Children’s Health is the only network in the area—and one of the few in the country—exclusively dedicated to pediatric and obstetric care. Its physicians and facilities bring a level of extraordinary care to multiple specialty locations, pediatric practices, and partner hospital locations across the entire San Francisco Bay Area. It was this backdrop of an expanding network and the increasing need to access priors in an effort to reduce duplicate imaging that initiated Stanford Children’s move to a cloud-based solution for outside image management (OIM). This session will hear from two unique perspectives - the clinical side and the IT side, and how both were able to balance their unique needs for a system that would make imaging available when and where it was needed all while reducing redundant imaging.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify IT governance, personnel, and technical requirements needed to successfully implement an outside image management policy
  • Discuss how outside image management solutions are essential for tertiary academic centers of excellence in delivering quality care
  • Analyze the cost savings and care benefits to the health institutions and to patients by utilizing an outside image management system
