Software Development for an Exceptional Clinician Experience

1:30pm - 2:00pm Thursday, February 14
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W300

Description

Designing software solutions for the healthcare sector is challenging. They must be sensitive to clinical workflows, clinician friendly, and able to translate a non-linear process, like caring for a patient, into a compatible linear software solution. Software companies are elevating their designs by employing user experience researcher and clinicians who can bridge the communication gap between the clinicians and software technologists. This session will discuss the challenges encountered when trying to create this symbiotic collaboration in an effort to develop better software solutions, increase clinician satisfaction and create a better user experience.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify what challenges software vendors may encounter when soliciting feedback from clinicians about their software solutions
  • Describe how clinical advisors and user experience researchers help bridge the communication gap between clinicians and software developers
