An Rx for Improved User Experience

3:00pm - 4:00pm Tuesday, March 10
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W308A

Description

With a burning platform to modernize its EHR to support enhanced patient care and greater operational efficiencies, Banner Health understood the importance of involving pharmacy stakeholders at every stage of the process. Several pharmacy projects were identified that were core to the broader EHR modernization efforts, including I&O integration, eMAR, mCDS, and allergy alerting optimizations. These projects were implemented using the new Agile methodology that allowed the organization to rapidly deploy changes and continuously improve through ongoing monitoring and measurement. The project led to enhanced efficiencies and medication safety, through elimination of millions of ineffective mCDS alerts, reduced time in MAR, enhancements to formulary, care sets, and order sets.
