Description

This session will demonstrate how Information Operation (IO) (J-6) supports the Military Health System (MHS) by working to implement, manage, and sustain an integrated and protected medical information enterprise. The CIO (J-6) will discuss his vision for the Defense Health Agency (DHA) IO to enhance support to the MHS and describe the objectives, initiatives, and projects IO pursues to achieve the goal of becoming a premier health IT system enabling integrated health care delivery.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Describe the important changes, direction, and benefits of the MHS HIT services
  • Discuss how HIT ensures the right information is accessible to the right customers at the right time and in the right way
  • Explain how HIT is facilitating partnerships amongst the Services, Defense Health Agency, and Combatant Commands via the implementation and sustainment of an integrated and protected health IT environment
