Reaching the PEAK: Breakthrough Physician Education

10:00am - 11:00am Wednesday, March 11
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W209C

Description

Regional Health, a nonprofit organization headquartered in South Dakota comprised of five hospitals and 32 specialties across two states, underwent a big bang implementation of a new EHR system in 2017. Approximately one year after implementation, it became clear that the ambulatory clinics and caregivers were struggling with common workflows, efficient use of basic use of the EHR, and comments and concerns from providers that raised concerns for trends toward burnout. Hospital leadership completed an assessment on provider satisfaction, identified root causes, and created the PEAK (Performance Evaluation and Advancement of Knowledge) program. The program is a combination of education-ranging from dedicated time in back to basics, education on standard workflows to personalization time-training and at the elbow support, workflow demonstration and optimization. Attendees will learn the backbone of the PEAK program and hear the phenomenal results.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify how EHR data can be utilized to drive individualized education plans and personalization for providers
  • Design a program to promote efficient use of the EHR and standardization of workflows
  • Design a comprehensive educational program for clinics focused on effective workflow for staff with a personalized approach to providers
