Session ID:

Quality Data Automation: A Journey with Business Intelligence

1:00pm - 2:00pm Wednesday, February 13
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center

Health analytics has changed the ways clinicians, organizations and healthcare professionals view the patient care experience. As more quality metrics are coming to the forefront to help shape the patient care experience, it is ideal that quality departments within healthcare organizations are data-driven to improve care processes and patient outcomes. It is imperative that correct and reliable data is shared amongst a large healthcare system in a timely, readily available and transparent manner. This session will describe how business intelligence (BI) has revamped the use of quality-centered data within an organization and the improvements and changes this tool can provide for quality and patient safety. This session will also highlight the need to shift a healthcare organization's culture from a "send it to me" mentality into a more self-service approach.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the healthcare organization's conversion from paper to an automated BI system for quality data
  • Describe the steps used by a quality analytics team to implement change
  • Define the barriers that need to be addressed to ensure a successful implementation
