Patients and Clinicians Engage EHRs in Private Conversations

3:00pm - 4:00pm Tuesday, March 10
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W207C

Description

One of the fastest growing and exciting applications of Machine Learning and AI is interactive voice.  Interactive voice has evolved to become trusted consumer resource, assisting customers with everyday activities, from shopping to weather and bank account updates and transactions. Due to the trust it’s earned, the healthcare industry is taking notice, with providers and health systems conservatively adopting voice to help consumers, patients and clinicians better manage personal and professional interactions with healthcare systems.  This session will provide an overview of how and why Boston Children’s Hospital developed an innovative, interactive voice-powered technology, Health Hub Advisor, designed to connect patients, caregivers, and clinicians.  Join Boston Children’s Dr. John Brownstein for a deep dive into Health Hub Advisor, and learn more about the system’s architecture, the benefits for patients, and the opportunity for clinicians and their organizations.

Learning Objectives

  • Contrast legacy structured clinical systems communications with emerging intelligent voice enabled unstructured methods
  • Discuss ways to improve patients access to personal health information and enable patients informed decision making
  • Describe how to extend interactive voice technologies to patients’ home health hub and establish an in-home personalized trusted health advisor
  • Identify improved patient outcomes through increased patients engagement, intelligent interactions, and improved adherence
