How to Ensure Your Organization Moves Safely to the Cloud

3:20pm - 3:50pm Monday, February 11
Orlando - Rosen Centre
Rosen Centre Executive Ballroom I
Extra Fee

Description

Chief information security officers from UPMC, the Cleveland Clinic, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and other leading healthcare organizations joined forces last summer with HITRUST to create the Third-Party Risk Management Council. The reason: Methods employed today to manage third-party risk are cumbersome and generally not effective. What’s more, healthcare providers are increasingly dependent on services controlled or hosted by third parties.

The council’s position: By requiring third-parties that handle sensitive information to adopt a single information security and privacy assessment and certification program, healthcare organizations are better equipped to manage this risk.

In this session, council members will discuss what it takes for third-parties to do business with them – and why standardizing third-party risk management is good for healthcare organizations and service providers.
This session is part of a special program called HIMSS19 Cloud Computing Forum. Extra fees and separate registration is required.
