Description

The NHIT Summit in collaboration with HIMSS, is an education program for health executives to interact with innovators and world-class thought leadership.  The Summit will focus engaging underserved populations in the development and use of health information technology (HIT) as a means to support and sustain health equity and economic viability based on NHIT’s five pillars: Workforce, Innovation, Policy, Research, and Community.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze key current issues in health information and technology from the perspective of both challenges and the opportunities for rural and underserved communities
  • Illustrate examples of initiatives and efforts for rural and underserved communities and others at risk for health disparities.
  • Generate community support of a national agenda focused on Workforce, Policy, Innovation and Research to optimize benefits of HIT use in underserved and disparity populations.
