A Multi-Pronged Approach to Improve Provider Satisfaction

3:00pm - 4:00pm Wednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Murano 3304

Description

At University of Missouri Health Care, IT leadership relies on a multi-pronged approach to improve provider satisfaction with the EHR. A combination of weekly rounding, annual surveys, research, funded physicians, and clinician-led governance plays a part in the execution of action plans to accomplish everything from improving documentation efficiencies to reducing readmissions. Overall satisfaction ratings of the annual survey increased 10% in 2016. The survey results also help to identify areas for focus in the coming year, and a cross-functional team of providers, educators, and IT develop an annual plan to improve the provider's experience with the EHR.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify key components in a multi-pronged approach to positively impact provider satisfaction
  • Demonstrate the importance of provider EHR surveys
  • Recognize the value of physician-funded positions on a EHR council
