Mergers and Acquisitions: CIO Change Management Strategies

4:15pm - 5:15pm Tuesday, February 12
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center

The number of health systems and hospitals merging and/or being acquired is increasing across the United States. The CIO and the senior information and technology leaders play a key role in ensuring that these consolidations are successful. This session will focus on the change management aspects of hospital mergers and specifically the information technology departments since this department is usually a priority area in terms of achieving operational cost savings and organizational efficiencies. The change management strategies need to address the questions and concerns of staff within the department and across the organization, build trust, keep people focused on the future and of course meet the project timelines. The culture changes can present challenges and need to be addressed as an integral part of the change management plan.
