Machine Learning: Another Piece of the AI Puzzle in Healthcare

10:00am - 11:00am Wednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Palazzo K

Description

With data science breakthroughs taking place every day in healthcare, machine learning and artificial intelligence are now garnering a lot of attention. Machine learning is used in a variety of healthcare tasks, including mining large amounts of structured and unstructured data in clinical settings, analyzing medical images, and in precision health. It is also being rapidly adopted by an increasing number of academic medical centers and integrated delivery networks (IDNs). Tools that leverage natural language processing, pattern recognition and risk identification are fueling new models for predictive, preventive and population health. In this session, we will share how customers are leveraging new machine learning capabilities on Amazon Web Services (AWS) for clinical applications and achieving more accurate and efficient results for the benefit of patients and extended research.

Learning Objectives:

  • Assess the current benefits and limitations of AI as it relates to achieving better quality and outcomes with clinical data
  • Discuss the impact of AI on structured and unstructured healthcare data
  • Discuss live use cases for how machine learning can be applied to clinical and administrative data sets in the care delivery setting
