Organizational integration and consolidation within healthcare is occurring as market forces and governmental policy shape the distribution and utilization of healthcare services in the United States. As organizations move to integrate, acquire or merge with another organization, certain risks need to be understood before committing to the new relationship. IT risks pose significant new challenges that have are often overlooked or under appreciated. It is important for organizations to plan for and execute a carefully craft IT Due diligence roadmap to assess and identify risk so that decision makers are informed prior to committing to integrate. This session will lay out one organization's journey to perform IT due diligence as a way of providing an example to others seeking to do similar work.
