IoT and Wayfinding: Optimizing Healthcare

3:00pm - 4:00pm Wednesday, March 7
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Palazzo E

Description

In the quest to improve patient experience, deliver better outcomes, and lower costs, providers are getting creative with connectivity. Increasingly, this means turning to Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to produce, capture and share data needed to make smarter clinical and business decisions. IoT remains daunting for many organizations as they grapple with identifying the problems they need to solve with IoT devices, prioritizing the infrastructure, and striving for interoperability. It doesn’t have to be this way. This session will focus on IoT strategies and best practices that set the stage for immediate and long-term connected health success. Buffalo, NY-based Kaleida Health will share its inaugural IoT journey, which started with an innovative wayfinding solution that spans from the patient’s home through their departure from the facility and is transforming the patient experience on its large campus. Kaleida will also share its vision for future initiatives.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze IoT strategies and best practices that set the stage for immediate and long-term connected health success
  • Identify strategies for launching successful IoT technologies that deliver measureable benefits in terms of improved patient experience, outcomes and operational efficiencies
  • Explain how organizations may best select the IoT solution on which to build a foundation for future IoT initiatives
  • Discuss emerging technologies in the healthcare IoT space and their potential benefits
  • Identify opportunities for IoT devices to be leveraged and integrated into the wayfinding experience, as demonstrated by Kaleida Health’s journey
