Security leaders help to drive organizational change. An effective security leader provides an organization with deep knowledge and expertise to guide its cybersecurity efforts. The effective security leader also provides effective governance and oversight. Having an effective cybersecurity leader (and leadership) is essential to running an effective cybersecurity program. (Although we’ll anticipate many security leader in the audience, there will still be plenty of attendees whose title is not that of security leader, but who are still the HDO’s lead for all-things-security.

  • Describe the characteristics of an effective security leader and when an organization should have a security leader to lead its cybersecurity program
  • Identify the key ingredients for effectively governing an organization’s cybersecurity program from a security leader’s perspective
