Faster, Safer Care Decisions With Innovative Pain Management

3:00pm - 4:00pm Tuesday, March 10
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center

Description

Even with advancing technologies, the complex and subjective nature of pain continues to blur the lines of standardized pain management programs across health systems. With the high risks associated with opioids and other sedating medications, including addiction, how does a health system create a safe, effective pain management program for all patients with all types of pain? Journey with one health system as they leverage technology in a multi-modal approach to expand awareness around patient specific risk factors for respiratory depression secondary to the use of central nervous system (CNS) depressants; improve the prescribing, administration and monitoring of opioids; and finally, instill realistic patient expectations regarding pain management.
