You’ve Experienced A Data Breach—Now What? A Crisis Simulation Exercise

4:00pm - 5:00pm Wednesday, February 13
Orlando - Orange County Convention Center
W230A

Description

If you were facing a live cybersecurity incident, would your organization be ready with all the right answers? Through an immersive and engaging presentation, participants will be faced with answering some of the toughest cybersecurity questions through a live, interactive quiz show format that will allow participants to "choose their own adventure" in terms of how they respond to the breach. Participants will be presented with an immersive, realistic data breach scenario and will be tested on their response to the incident, from initial detection of the incident to public notification to reputation recovery. The speaker will provide insight and recommendations as he guides participants through the scenario, drawing from experience managing several of the largest data breaches ever disclosed, as well as proprietary research on consumer expectations of organizations in the aftermath of security incidents.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe a risk avoidance to a pre-emptive risk management mindset to effectively manage data security incidents before they reach critical mass
  • Explain consumer preferences and expectations for companies in the immediate aftermath of a data breach, based on proprietary research
  • Illustrate how to effectively balance international regulatory and communications priorities during a data breach
  • Assess how to balance multiple impacts of a crisis response, including to reputation, operations and finances
  • Demonstrate how healthcare businesses must adapt to emerging threats in cyber security and the shifting global regulatory environment
