Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Marcello 4405

Description

Join your colleagues from Canada Health Infoway as they describe the digital health journey in Canada and what’s next, leveraging the significant investment in EHR / EMR infrastructure since 2001. Much is accomplished and there is much more to do. The strategy has shifted from a traditional strategic investor role to one of providing national e-services and products that improve the patient experience, improve the health of populations, and unlock the value for Canada’s health system. Additionally, this session will share the Canadian experience to develop and implement a strategy to integrate clinical informatics competencies into the academic faculty curricula for Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the healthcare system and the digital health journey in Canada
  • Identify the national public sector organizations leading the development and implementation of the Canadian clinical informatics competency program
