Becoming a Data-Driven Organization: Journey to HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7

7:30pm - 8:30pm Tuesday, March 6
Las Vegas - Venetian Convention Center
Murano 3304

Description

To advance clinical care and brain science, the Centre for Addiction and Mental health has transformed itself into a data-driven organization through implementation of its clinical information system (CIS) as well as an enterprise data strategy. Strategic and tactical elements required for the transformation will be discussed along with case studies such as CLMA, Clinical Decision Support, CPOE, and Care Planning. A detailed case study will be presented describing implementation of monitoring protocols for patients being treated with Clozapine. Each initiative will be discussed in terms of its value to the organization, performance improvement challenges, and illustrates data-driven advancements in clinical care. Furthermore, the importance of CIS to the research enterprise will be discussed with a focus on integrating clinical data with research data and analytics. This session will be given in the context of a Journey to HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7, which was achieved in June 2017.
