Description

This poster will be displayed in conjunction with the HIMSS20 Career Expo. Posters will be available for viewing through the entirety of the event. Poster presenters will be available for questions from 12:00 pm -1:00 pm.

This poster focuses on various issues that people can face when accessing healthcare using the Healthy People 2020 5 listed determinants. As these determinants focus on all people that fit in those categories, the focus of this poster will be on one group, senior citizens. As more baby boomers are hitting 65 we will be seeing more and more issues that are going to inhibit people from getting proper health care, 'proper' because some get enough but it may not be what they need or they may be abusing the system in various ways. It is not all just about how much care one receives. The main areas of this poster focus on access to care, health literacy, social and community, built environment and poverty.
