The NHIT Summit, in collaboration with HIMSS, is an education program to help health executives gain access to global innovators to enable the creation of actionable solutions to support and sustain health equity and economic viability. The Summit will focus on the organization's mission to engage underserved populations in the development and use of health information technology (HIT) as a means to support and sustain health equity and economic viability based on NHIT's five pillars: workforce, innovation, policy, research, and community.

Learning Objectives

  • Analyze key current issues in health information and technology from the perspective of both challenges and opportunities for rural and underserved communities
  • Illustrate examples of initiatives and efforts for rural and underserved communities and others at risk for health disparities
  • Generate community support of a national agenda focused on workforce, policy, innovation and research to optimize benefits of HIT use in underserved and disparity populations
  • Help health executives gain access to global innovators to enable the creation of actionable solutions to support and sustain health equity and economic viability.
