Innovation Symposium: Innovation As a Strategic Imperative

Monday, March 5, 2018 | 8:00am - 4:30pm

Cost: $350
Venetian-Palazzo-Sands Expo Center

Care delivery organizations are often slow to change, and this can impede our ability to meet evolving consumer needs. Organizations that have embraced innovation as a core part of their cultural fabric are more vibrant, enjoy better customer and employee satisfaction, and manage new challenges gracefully. However, there is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach to innovation. Explore the many facets of innovation in healthcare organizations – including innovation types, models and applications; examples of successful innovation programs; organizational abilities and readiness for change; and more.

Learning objectives:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the definition of innovation, the different types of innovation, and their best applications.
  2. Recognize examples of successful innovation programs, and some of their shared attributes.
  3. Analyze organizational abilities and readiness for change, and how this readiness will define next steps in the path toward a successful innovation program.
  4. Illustrate  innovation models to:
    • Assess the value of candidate projects for disruptive or sustainable innovations
    • Construct a framework for project implementation
    • Execute project and/or program implementation
    • Optimize and maintain sustainable innovations
