Are you a subject matter expert and want to present at HIMSS21? We’re calling on you to apply. Accepted speakers receive:

  • Complimentary HIMSS21 full registration for general education session speakers*
  • Complimentary HIMSS21 optional event-only registration for optional event speakers*
  • Visibility to thousands of global attendees from across the health information and technology ecosystem
  • Membership advancement and/or certification points for HIMSS members

*Registration is non-transferable. Speakers are responsible for hotel and travel expenses.

About the Call for Proposals

The Call for Proposals is a yearly request for proposals to present general education sessions and sessions within optional events at the HIMSS Global Health Conference.

General Education Sessions

HIMSS21 general education sessions are the core of our programming, comprising 250+ sessions across 17 topic categories. Proposals for these sessions are peer reviewed, scored and selected by members of the HIMSS Global Health Conference Education Committee within their areas of expertise.

Sessions Within Optional Events

HIMSS21 optional events are specialized topic or audience-specific, niche programs often occurring during our preconference. Proposals for these sessions are peer reviewed, scored and selected by HIMSS subject matter experts.

How to Apply

General Education Sessions: October 5 – November 2

Prior to submitting, please read all instructions on this page and within the preparation resources. They can also be found on the proposal submission site when you log in. Late submissions will not be accepted.

  1. Log in and/or register a HIMSS account. Multiple proposals may be submitted under the same username and password. Save your login credentials! They are needed to accept/decline your speaker status.
  2. Begin your submission. The entry is segmented into sections:
    • Submission Information: Presentation title and topic category
    • Speaker Details: Your name, contact information and biography
    • Content: Proposal details like description, learning objectives and target audience
  3. Preview your submission. Once you’ve entered all information, you can review, edit and print prior to submitting. Edits can be made until the submission site closes. Draft status proposals are not reviewed.
