When properly implemented, Digital Transformation (Dx) changes the organization’s processes, setup and culture in a manner that leverages cutting-edge technologies in order to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives. This is highly applicable in healthcare, and has the potential of solving many of the major challenges in the healthcare field. Information Technology (IT) adoption models can act as clear blueprints that lead healthcare organizations through the Dx journey. The hospital system of the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA) in Saudi Arabia has been going through this journey, and has learned many lessons along the way. King Abdulaziz Medical City of MNGHA is the only healthcare facility in the world that is validated on EMRAM Stage 7, O-EMRAM Stage 7, INFRAM Stage 6 and DIAM Stage 6.
