As the global digital health ecosystem expands, consumers of health information across the globe are compelled to make the best use of the abundance of rich cross-sectoral community-level and regional information sources. Their efforts to adopt enhanced data analytics for improved surveillance among other novel uses of health information support health policymaking and drive innovative strategies that may combat a range of complex local to global health conditions. The HIMSS Foundation, in coordination the HHS Office of the Chief Technology Officer, and the UK’s NHS Digital, led an exchange program to help data scientists share insights to fast-paced changes in the health data science world. Panelists will discuss their exchange experience and their ongoing collaboration through an international community of practice; supporting analytical projects that tackle common health challenges; and developing a policy knowledge exchange.
