Healthcare organizations generally recognize the opportunities of bringing together data, technologies and analytics to improve care and operational efficiency, yet only a small percentage successfully manage data across disciplines, systems and settings. Integration of digital tools affects lab and clinic workflows. Furthermore, the introduction of AI-empowered tools often requires redefinition of roles and responsibilities. Research shows that 70-90% of change projects fail to reach stated goals. Effective change management is required for true digital transformation. This presentation will explore implementation science and typical pitfalls, demonstrate how to leverage agile work principles and highlight the importance of identifying clinical use cases, user experience, evidence generation, cross-disciplinary collaboration and behavioral change. The examples will illustrate how important these elements are for digital transformation and sustainable success.
