As part of the effort to address the opioid crisis, most US states maintain Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs (PDMPs), databases that track controlled substance prescriptions. PDMPs are seen, by US policy-makers, as an important tool in decreasing prescription opioid misuse and abuse. This poster describes a literature review of whether clinicians view PDMPs as being useful and lists ideas for improving utility and usability.
