The American Immunization Registry Association (AIRA) continues to expand its standards-based Immunization Information System (IIS) Measurement and Improvement Initiative. In early 2019, AIRA released the baseline reports on Clinical Decision Support, or CDS. This is the first nationwide systematic effort to validate that CDS engines are functioning in accordance with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, or ACIP, the federal body that recommends vaccines for children, adolescents, and adults. The latest data visuals and improvements, along with their impact and use at the state IIS level, will be shared during the conference. In addition, HIMSS and AIRA continue to work together testing EHRs and IIS to help identify and address interoperability problems. Through expanded testing methods, AIRA and HIMSS are amplifying the call to action for greater standards alignment and improved data quality to benefit IIS, EHRs and providers domestically and globally.
