U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has become a federal leader in looking at applications of blockchain technology in healthcare. Their successful integration of the blockchain-based Accelerate program into their existing legacy systems allowed time and money to be saved in health-related purchasing, and was the first approved blockchain system in the U.S. federal government. Now they are looking at blockchain applications for identity, pharma supply chain, clinical research, and more across multiple programs and in partnership with the private sector and other federal agencies. Our keynote speaker will take us through the success and give a picture of what ongoing applications are being considered. This will include not only how the technology can be integrated with existing legacy systems, but also how its integration with other emerging technology like artificial intelligence/machine learning are being explored. As we look forward, this session will consider how the public and private sectors can work together to ensure that the best solutions become a part of the integrated future of health.
