As costs and locations needed to deliver quality health care increase amidst dwindling resources, telemedicine is rapidly emerging as a solution showing promise as an alternative to traditional health care delivery.  This session will provide an informative discussion regarding the evolution and provision of telemedicine health services, such as state licensure requirements for providers of these services; criteria for establishing practitioner-patient relationships via telehealth technologies; accepted modalities for delivery of telehealth services; coverage and reimbursement issues; corporate structuring of telemedicine practices; fraud and abuse issues specific to telemedicine and the uptick in enforcement of telemedicine practices; and other pending telehealth legislation.
