Clinical documentation burden has garnered major news headlines that question the value of U.S. healthcare information technology investments of the past decade.  Recognized as contributing to healthcare operational inefficiency and clinician burnout, documentation burden now commands national attention. Bold, strategic nursing informatics action is imperative. UCHealth launched Project Joy to streamline nursing documentation, improve the meaningfulness of the record, and return time to patients across 12 diverse hospitals. Project Joy required complex organizational negotiation among departments with competing needs in the context of the long-held myth of 'not documented, not done' in nursing.  This presentation shares the story of their ongoing work, highlighting successful tactics and sharing hard-won lessons learned along the way.Air Jordan XIII CP3
