Over the last decade, technology has played a central role in advancing quality of care, creating new delivery mediums and changing access for patients, in large part due to the development of new medical devices. While device cybersecurity is a shared responsibility between device vendors, Healthcare Delivery Organizations (HDOs), and others, the evolving medical device regulatory guidance confirms the need for HDOs to prepare for anticipated changes. This session will explore the evolution of cybersecurity as a HIPAA compliance mitigation into a patient safety enabler for HDOs. It will delve into cybersecurity processes and functions that HDOs are expected to perform as part of managing this changing footprint.
