Through the 21st Century Cures Act, the federal government is taking steps to institute a more robust policy framework to facilitate greater access, exchange, and use of patient data. The regulations recently finalized by HHS to implement 21st Century Cures will greatly impact all aspects of the health ecosystem and transform the current landscape for health IT. However, policy gaps that could stifle progress toward nationwide interoperability remain. For instance, how will newfound access to data and use of consumer technology impact patients’ data privacy? Join policy experts and DC Insiders to discuss the confluence of these fundamental policy issues in support of a broader nationwide interoperability effort.
