Seniors are rapidly becoming a technology savvy population, and this development has a profound impact on how healthcare organizations integrate technology into the resident/patient experience. It’s tempting to focus first on the “application” layer. To ensure success, however, organizations must first address the foundation that will power the resident and patient experience. The Forum at Rancho San Antonio, a senior living community in California, looked to transform its campus into a technological hub that would improve quality of life and care as well as promote operational efficiency. The plan even called for introducing concierge robots. The Forum quickly realized it needed to first address its IT foundation – starting with networking and Wi-Fi. This presentation will examine The Forum’s journey to create a next-generation IT infrastructure that is helping it achieve its vision of integrating technology across the organization to improve the overall resident experience.
