This presentation will cover the information system built and implemented to enable the transition from an open-bay neonatal intensive care unit (NNICU) to a state-of-the-art NNICU comprised of private/semi-private rooms across two floors without increasing staff. This technology aggregates multiple, disparate systems and provides clinical communication and alarm/alert notifications to keep patients safe and caregivers connected to each other, their patients, and the patients’ families. This presentation was one of three presentations that enabled Yale New Haven Health System to be awarded the HIMSS Davies Award.
