This educational session would dive deep into understanding the Office of Inspector General at the Department of Health and Human Services. HHS OIG is the largest inspector general office in the federal government and is charged with overseeing nearly a trillion dollars in HHS spending. The session looks into OIG's legal authority, how it executes that authority through audits, evaluations, and investigations, and how it uses data analytics in its oversight and enforcement strategy. Moreover, the session explores the recent information blocking rule and potentially how OIG could enforce and oversee that program.
