Increased interest in the use of patient-generated health data (PGHD) to support clinical care and increase patient engagement has followed from the rapid development of both mobile technologies and enterprise information technologies. While the use of PGHD holds great promise to enhance patient experience and satisfaction, healthcare systems find significant challenges to integrate PGHD in clinical care. Developing enterprise data governance for this new data source is essential to establish “ground rules” which promote enterprise adoption. The speakers will share their experiences and perspectives on PGHD data governance, focusing on Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs). We will provide reflections and lessons learned from collaborative efforts within the University of Washington Medicine (UW Medicine) health system. The presenters will offer guidelines on how to systematically govern integration of PGHD into clinical workflow and provide opportunity for discussion.
