In South Korea, MyHealthData project has started and is becoming more and more widespread. MyHealthData, like any other service such as Blue Button Initiative in U.S. and MyHealthMyData in Europe, has its primary purpose in empowering patients and citizens to gain control over their own data and having a right to make use of it for other purposes like participating clinical trials and studies. MyHealthData project is not just about PHR services, but it also offers good services that satisfy both patients and healthcare service providers. We would like to introduce the framework of MyHealthData project and several techniques used, such as blockchain technology to prevent falsification of information. Also we would like to explain several initial services of MyHealthData project, including health information exchange, active recruitment of clinical trial participants, and information delivery for claims, etc. Finally, we will share the lessons we learned from MyHealthData project.
