The interoperable data exchange landscape has expanded in the past five years as Meaningful Use made way for Promoting Interoperability and TEFCA, and industry dialogue even expanded to consider exchange needs internationally as well. But as more information is able to be shared and accessed across more settings and stakeholders, how is this growing interoperability being integrated into workflow and providing usable information to improve care? Our session will assess the technical, organizational and policy needs to drive interoperability forward beyond exchange to consider the needs of the end-user integrating and leveraging this knowledge to inform clinical and business decisions to improve health and lower costs. Panelists will explore the care coordination opportunities that must be addressed to integrate new stakeholders, such as individuals, and how gaps still remain with certain stakeholders completely absent from the coordination landscape.
