Lessons learned in developing virtual health programs within the military health system. A review of the first years of starting up the Army's first Virtual medical center. During this session we will review the early successes and failures of starting up a virtual MEDCEN. We will also review some of our more successful projects to include a review of Remote Health Monitoring.  This session will discuss military telehealth past, present and future.  It will included lessons learned and success stories from innovation funding provided though the AAMTI program that is managed by TATRC. The AAMTI program has funded over 50 AAMTI projects since 1999 that have a telemedicine, remote health monitoring or mobile health component.   It will also highlight the current direction of virtual health use cases being launched through the DHA Virtual Medical Centers (VMEDCENS).  Finally the long range needs and objectives of the newly established VH Research Task Area to support the operational environment, and opportunities for civilian collaborations will be highlighted.
