We’re thrilled that you’ll be joining us at HIMSS18 – the leading health information and technology conference. You’ll get the most out of your first HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition by planning as much as you can. Here are some tips to help you arrive prepared – and to assist you on-site – so that you can maximize your time at HIMSS18.

Before you go…

  • Book your hotel early. Hotel rooms in Las Vegas fill up fast, so book your hotel room now – even before you complete your HIMSS18 registration.   • Know what’s included in your registration. HIMSS18 Full Conference Registration includes access to Keynote Sessions; attendance at the Opening Reception; access to all Education Sessions Tuesday–Friday unless otherwise noted (e.g., Specialty Programs); access to Views from the Top Sessions; access to the Exhibition Floor Tuesday–Thursday; orientations (About Conference, About HIMSS); on-site tote bag, pocket guide and resource guide; and access to all recorded General Education Sessions. Registration does not include several options, such as Preconference Symposia, Workshops, Specialty Programs and Special Events as noted, Awards Gala, or Star Service.
  • Establish your objectives. What do you want to accomplish at HIMSS18?   • Attend the HIMSS18 First-Time Attendee webinar. Get valuable tips on how to make the conference work for you during the Journey to HIMSS18: Ready, Set, Go! webinar on February 26 from 1:00pm-2:00pm CT. Learn how to navigate the exhibit halls, determine which education sessions fit your needs, make the most of networking opportunities, and more.
  • Take advantage of social media. Use Facebook and Twitter to network with other HIMSS18 attendees before you leave for Las Vegas. Identify potential contacts and collaborators, schedule working lunches and dinners before and after the conference, and more.
  • Attend Journey to HIMSS18 webinars. Join HIMSS staff and community experts for 30 minutes every Tuesday from now through February for Journey to HIMSS18 – a series of complimentary, concise, high-level webinars leading up to HIMSS18. Get a heads-up on what's new and what to expect on-site, explore hot topics, and discover insider tips and logistics to help you plan your agenda.
  • Consider Star Service. Get concierge assistance with travel, logistics and design of a customized agenda to save you time and energy and make your conference experience seamless.

While you’re there...

  • Pick up your badge before you get to HIMSS18. Badge pickup will be available at McCarran Airport, at several Las Vegas hotels and at the convention center.
  • Attend an in-person orientation session. Join HIMSS staff for a Conference Orientation on-site at HIMSS18 and get answers to your last-minute questions. Sessions will take place on Monday, March 5, 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, and Tuesday, March 6, 9:00 am – 10:00 am. A students-only session will take place on Tuesday, March 6, 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Our About HIMSS Orientation takes place on Wednesday, March 7, 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Attend this session to get an overview of how HIMSS globally transforms health and healthcare through the best use of information and technology – and how you can get involved. Learn More.
  • Still have questions? Visit one of our Question & Answer Desks, or stop by HIMSS Spot to chat with HIMSS staff experts and other HIMSS18 attendees. Stop by HIMSS Spot any time during the conference to talk to our staff.
  • Go mobile. Get the latest information on educational sessions, exhibitor listings, floor maps, networking opportunities, headline news and more with the official HIMSS18 Mobile App. Download at the App Store or Google Play; search HIMSS18. The mobile app will be available at the end of January.
  • Explore the maps. Reference maps in the on-site pocket guide and throughout the conference center to navigate your way to education sessions, the exhibit hall, networking events and more.
  • Wear your nametag on-site. Be sure to wear your nametag at all times during HIMSS18 – but be sure to take it off when you leave the convention center.
  • Use the shuttles. Take advantage of the complimentary shuttles that run between the convention center, hotels and the airport.
