Here are some tips to help you arrive prepared – and to assist you on-site – so that you can maximize your time at HIMSS19.

Before you go…

  • Establish your objectives. What do you want to accomplish at HIMSS19? Start planning your educational experience now by reviewing the topics that interest you most.
  • Plan your continuing education credits. HIMSS19 is an excellent opportunity to earn continuing education credit. View CE credit accreditation statements here.
  • Attend a preconference webinar. Get a head start on planning your HIMSS19 experience with our complimentary Journey to HIMSS19 Unveiled webinar on Wednesday, October 24.
  • Take advantage of social media. Use Facebook and Twitter to network with other HIMSS19 attendees before you leave for Orlando. Identify potential contacts and collaborators, schedule working lunches and dinners before and after the conference, and more.

*Registration does not include optional education and networking events, such as Preconference Symposia, Workshops, Specialty Programs and Special Events as noted, Awards Gala, or Thursday Night Special Event at SeaWorld.  These optional events can be added to your registration during the online process. 

While you’re there...

  • Pick up your badge before you get to HIMSS19. Badge pickup will be available at the Orlando International Airport (MCO), at several Orlando hotels and at the Orange County Convention Center, West Building.
  • Attend an in-person orientation session. Join HIMSS staff for a Conference Orientation on-site at HIMSS19 and get answers to your last-minute questions. Sessions will take place on Monday, February 11, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST, and Tuesday, February 12, 10:30 am - 11:30 am EST. A students-only session will take place on Tuesday, February 12, 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm EST. Our About HIMSS Orientation takes place on Tuesday, February 12, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm EST. Attend this session to get an overview of how HIMSS globally transforms health and healthcare through the best use of information and technology – and how you can get involved. Learn More.
  • Still have questions? Visit one of our Question & Answer Desks on-site, or stop by HIMSS Spot any time to chat with HIMSS staff experts and other HIMSS19 attendees. 
  • Go mobile. Get the latest information on educational sessions, exhibitor listings, floor maps, networking opportunities, headline news and more with the official HIMSS19 Mobile App. Download at the App Store or Google Play; search HIMSS19. The mobile app will be available in January.
  • Explore the maps. Reference maps in the on-site pocket guide and throughout the conference center to navigate your way to education sessions, the exhibit hall, networking events and more.
  • Wear your conference badge on-site. Be sure to wear your badge at all times during HIMSS19 – but be sure to take it off when you leave the convention center.
  • Use the shuttles. Take advantage of the complimentary shuttles that run between the convention center, official HIMSS hotels and the airport.
