Press Releases

Prairie Village, KS – May 11, 2017 – University of South Alabama Health in Mobile, Alabama, has enlisted Softek OnTrack Revenue Services to ensure the health system meets its revenue targets as they convert to the Cerner Millennium electronic medical record system.

“We are working with Softek throughout our testing period to identify any areas of risk heading into our go-live,” said USA Health Chief Financial Officer Traci Jones. “We value the independent assessment and visibility they’re giving us into all our applications. With Softek on-site for our go-live, we’ll enter it with greater confidence.”

Softek’s proprietary Panther technology and Cerner-specific experts provide real-time visibility into charging irregularities in Cerner’s clinical applications.

“Even the most thorough conversion teams can only test a small percentage of the total charge master,” said Softek President Dave Fletcher. “But Panther's Charge Integrity Control will instantly display all the charging errors, even in the scenarios that couldn’t be tested.”

Softek aims to ensure a seamless implementation at USA Medical Center and USA Children’s and Women’s Hospitals, Fletcher added. That process begins by giving their conversion team immediate access to the raw data and expert analysis they need to determine why orders are failing to post charges.

With more than 3,800 employees, the University of South Alabama’s health system is unlike any other health care organization on the Alabama Gulf Coast. It includes an acute care medical center, a hospital for children and women, an academic research and cancer treatment center, and an academic physician practice. At least one-third of local physicians (2,500) received their training at USA Medical Center. More than 10,400 nurses and 5,600 allied health professionals received training at USA hospitals.

Softek Solutions, Inc., has been providing intuitive software and consulting services for more than 15 years. Softek’s OnTrack brand optimizes the performance and revenue cycle integrity at hospitals running the Cerner Millennium EMR system.
