The Venture Fair is an all-day event immediately preceding the formal start of the 2008 HIMSS Annual Conference and Exhibition, the largest industry conference for health IT in the world. Over 24,000 attendees and 900 corporate exhibitors will gather in Orlando for five days of educational programming, exhibitions and networking events. Designed to connect the financial community with some of the most interesting healthcare IT investment opportunities available, the Venture Fair is the perfect way for investors to kick-off their participation at HIMSS08.
Investors who are interested in attending the Venture Fair should expect:
- A first look at innovative companies and ideas
- Presentations by 30-40 pre-screened emerging health IT companies at various stages of development, but all with operational, revenue-generating products and services
- An opportunity to meet and develop relationships with potential investment partners focused in the health IT industry
- Networking with peers and company executives at breakfast and lunch
As part of the selection process, emerging companies will:
- Be seeking investment between $500,000 USD and $10 million USD.
- Show how they provide an adequate ROI or liquidity event for the investors.
- Have at least two (2) years of experience and contracts yielding a consistent revenue stream from healthcare IT products and services.
- Be limited to the top pre-selected companies. Applicants must be HIMSS08 exhibitors and selection preference will be given to HIMSS Corporate Members. For those firms not selected to participate in the Fair, HIMSS will include their names on the HIMSS08 Health IT Venture Fair list of investment opportunities and will provide space at the event for literature distribution.
