Saudi Arabia Woman Honored for Contributions to Health IT

Shareefa Alabdulmunem understands the value of health information technology. As head of eServices, Office of the CIO at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Saudi Arabia, she is one of seven recipients of the new HIMSS Most Influential Women in Health IT Award.

This healthcare leader dedicated her award to all the women of healthcare in Saudi Arabia. “The transformations we are making together symbolize the importance we place on women’s health and the importance of a healthy nation,” she said in a recent blog post.

As a woman in health IT focused on improving care through the best use of IT, she shared her excitement about the honor and simply concluded, “This award has given me a boost on how much more effort lays ahead, so thank you for sharing this surreal moment with me, but I really need to get back to work.”

Find out who received the HIMSS Most Influential Women in Health Award from Carla Smith, executive vice president, HIMSS.
