Wendy Odell is the Manager, Clinical Information, which includes Clinical Informatics, Registration, and Health Records, at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) in Whitby, Ontario. Wendy played a key role on the project team that helped the organization achieve HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 designation in 2014 and HIMSS Davies Enterprise Award in 2015, the first organization in Canada and first mental health organization in the world to receive these awards. Before coming to Ontario Shores, Wendy gained years of experience in management, informatics and project management roles at Mount Sinai Hospital and Bridgepoint Health in Toronto, Ontario.
Wendy has successfully completed the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS-CA) designation and is also certified with the Canadian Health Information Management (CHIM) Association. Wendy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and is currently completing the Masters, Health Informatics (MHI) program at the University of Waterloo. Wendy’s experience and levels of preparation have been complimented by her leadership skills, passion for health information management, health informatics, process improvement and customer service.
