Tone Southerland has been dedicated to the Healthcare Information Technology sector for over ten years. He currently serves as Director of Strategic Consulting at Ready Computing, providing guidance to organizations in the healthcare IT sector on interoperability strategy as well as general development and implementation strategy necessary for those organizations to "future-proof" the solutions they choose implement. Mr. Southerland has made extensive investment in Healthcare IT standards development activities, including authoring several obstetric profiles within the IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Domain. He has served in the role of co-chair for both the PCC Technical and Planning Committees, participated as a founding member of the EHR|HIE Interoperability Workgroup, led the Technical Workgroup of the Beacon EHR Affinity Group, provided subject matter expertise to the ConCert by HIMSS Certification program, and contributed to the initial development of the CommonWell Health Alliance interoperability specifications as well as the Sequoia Project Carequality interoperability specifications. Mr. Southerland continues to actively drive innovation through his involvement in several Healthcare IT standards initiatives including his role as PCC Representative to the IHE International Board, member of the IHE USA Implementation Committee, member of the ConCert by HIMSS Specification Workgroup, and co-chair of the Sequoia Project eHealth Exchange Testing Workgroup. He also has held key leadership and active development roles with his previous employers, Greenway Health and digiChart, both of which are health IT product vendors building standards-based interoperability solutions in support of improved clinician workflows.
