Steven Merahn, MD is Chief Medical Officer at US Medical Management
At US Medical Management, Dr. Merahn provides leadership, direction and administration its 14-state, 42 office 200+ physician primary care network serving complex/fragile elderly, as well as the integration, coordination and optimization of our clinical program initiatives, with special focus on our efforts to launch our Accountable Care Organization and build out our population health management infrastructure.
An experienced physician-executive, Dr. Merahn is an expert in the design of care delivery systems and operations who most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Director of the Center for Population Health Management at Clinovations, a Washington, DC-based consulting firm, where he led efforts to help health systems and physician networks meet Triple Aim goals. Prior to that position, he was the Senior Vice President, Clinical Programs and Senior Medical Director at ActiveHealth Management, an Aetna operating company focused on clinical analytics and care management with commercial and Medicare populations. While at ActiveHealth he was responsible for managing a team of medical directors and nurses supporting accountable care organizations and clinically integrated networks in their efforts at population health management; he also designed their Medicare STARS improvement program. Before joining ActiveHealth, he was an administrator in multi-hospital system where he was responsible for physician and patient engagement programs, quality and performance improvement initiatives and organizational development. He also has experience in healthcare IT, having managed a healthcare professional web portal serving over 250,000 physicians, nurses and pharmacists, worked on electronic health record implementations and designed and launched clinical decision support products supporting evidence-based practice.
