Stacy Kessel is a vibrant and celebrated expert in healthcare finance and leadership, with more than 25 years as a finance professional and 13 years of executive leadership in health insurance. Kessel is currently the chief financial officer of Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW), Inc., a not-for-profit organization founded by local community health centers that provide access to high-quality doctors, nurses and specialists across the entire state of Washington.
Kessel is simultaneously the chief financial officer of Community Health Network of Washington, the provider alliance that both owns and contracts with the health plan. Provider organizations and health plans are typically at odds over finances, so Kessel’s position as the financial leader of both groups gives her a unique perspective on common barriers to collaboration and ways to move forward.
Supporting her longtime and successful career in healthcare is six years of public accounting and consulting experience with a focus on healthcare and financial institutions. Kessel is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than 20 years as a member of Washington Society of CPAs (WSCPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). She currently sits on the Board of the Association of Washington Healthcare Plans (AWHP).
