The deployment of Real-Time Location Services (RTLS) at Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest in healthcare. Scott Phillips leads the overall RTLS strategy and rapidly expanding portfolio for the organization’s 38 hospitals, and 600+ medical office buildings and outpatient facilities. RTLS-related technology plays a fundamental role in Kaiser Permanente’s mission to provide high quality affordable care to its 10.6 million members by reducing operating costs, improving the timeliness of care, increasing caregiver time at the bedside, enhancing patient safety and reducing risk. Phillips has more than 25 years of experience in enterprise IT systems and has spent the last decade focused almost exclusively on RTLS application and integration for health care organizations worldwide. He is a member of the board of directors for the Intelligent Hospital Association and is Vice Co-Chair for the IEEE RTLS standards committee. Phillips is a graduate of University of California at Berkeley with degrees in Computer Science and Economics.
